After the face-off between India and China in Galwan valley, tensions between these countries near Line of Actual Control are still not resolved.The standoff near Line of Actual Control is still continuing which started on 5 May 2020. Even after 12 rounds of corps commander talks, both the countries have not reached to a consensus. Russia’s Defense Ministry said a Russian warship on October 15 prevented a U.S. Navy destroyer from what it described as an attempt to intrude into Russia’s territorial waters in the Sea of Japan. The Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement that at around 5 pm local time (0800GMT), the destroyer USS Chafee, which had been operating in the Sea of Japan for several days, "approached the territorial waters of the Russian Federation and attempted to cross the border." The incident came as Russia and China conducted joint naval drills in the area, and followed other dangerously close encounters involving Russian and Western warships. It appears to reflect Moscow’s intention to raise the stakes in deterring the U.S. and its allies from sending their ships on missions near Russian waters, as relations between Russia and the West are at a post-Cold War low. Russia's Admiral Tributs destroyer issued a warning to the US ship "about the inadmissibility of such actions.
