Russia pushed US destroyer from area near its water

Russia’s Defense Ministry said a Russian warship on October 15 prevented a U.S. Navy destroyer from what it described as an attempt to intrude into Russia’s territorial waters in the Sea of Japan.

The Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement that at around 5 pm local time (0800GMT), the destroyer USS Chafee, which had been operating in the Sea of Japan for several days, "approached the territorial waters of the Russian Federation and attempted to cross the border."

The incident came as Russia and China conducted joint naval drills in the area, and followed other dangerously close encounters involving Russian and Western warships. It appears to reflect Moscow’s intention to raise the stakes in deterring the U.S. and its allies from sending their ships on missions near Russian waters, as relations between Russia and the West are at a post-Cold War low.

Russia's Admiral Tributs destroyer issued a warning to the US ship "about the inadmissibility of such actions."

However, the USS Chafee ignored the warning and "took action to violate the national border of the Russian Federation," according to the Russian Defense Ministry.

The Ministry said the Russian navy’s  destroyer Admiral Tributs closely approached the U.S. destroyer USS Chafee to chase it out of the area near Russian waters ."Acting within the framework of the international rules of navigation, Russian destroyer the Admiral Tributs set a course for ousting the intruder from the Russian territorial waters."

After that, the USS Chafee turned around and set off "on the opposite course" when it was less than 60 meters away from the Russian ship.

The relation between USA and Russia is deteriorating day by day. Russia has deployed its many missiles near Europe. In response to that US special envoy for Nuclear Nonproliferation Eberhardt said "Russia should remove missiles from Europe that violate the conditions of INF treaty.

This has affected the image of USA in the world and Biden is also receiving criticism after this incident from his countrymen, so their possibilities that USA might make some move to improve its image and show its dominance. This could lead to some more tensions between these two countries in the future.

China reunification with Taiwan ‘must’ be fulfilled: Xi Jinping

China's President Xi Jinping has said that "reunification" with Taiwan "must be fulfilled", as heightened tensions over the island continue. Mr Xi said unification should be achieved peacefully, but warned that the Chinese people had a "glorious tradition" of opposing separatism. In response, Tsai Ing-wen president of the Republic of China (Taiwan) said "we will not bow to Beijing pressure and our future lay in the hands of our people". Taiwan considers itself a sovereign state, while China views it as a breakaway province. Beijing has not ruled out the possible use of force to achieve unification. Mr Xi's intervention comes after China sent a record number of military jets into Taiwan's air defence zone in recent days. Some analysts say the flights could be seen as a warning to Taiwan's president ahead of the island's national day which is on 10th of October. Taiwan's defence minister has said that "tension...
